Take life by the handlebars

About the project

This piece focuses on a neighbours day within a local community. The main focus of the neighbours day is to introduce the community to the idea of emergency preparedness. By creating a community focused, connected community, the likelihood of resilience within a natural disaster increases.

Intent

The target audience are young and active, with many of them cycling on a daily basis. This theme of cycling is continued throughout the designs. We took a rhetorical approach to celebrate the diversity of the community by represtning residents as different kinds of bikes. The call to action is to "take life by the handlebars" by going to the bike fair and meeting the neighbours.
